Perspectives #9 highlights Dendrite Studios’ trip to the original cat skiing operation on the planet: Selkirk Wilderness Skiing. In one of the lowest snow years on record for the operation and no new snow in a few weeks we still found nothing but the absolute goods. We were fed like kings and were welcomed as part of the family. All ...read more

So when Nic went down to Utah for the Salt Lake Shootout he flew on Horizon Air and flipped open the airline’s magazine in the seat back pocket. Lo and behold he saw me. The shot was taken by Bruce Rowles last winter and I had no idea it was used anywhere. The shot is courtesy of Fairmont Hotels ...read more

You see a lot of sleds (snowmobiles) in ski films these days. The reason is simple, on the right days, with the right crew a sled is like a personal heli. It can get you to the top of some of the biggest lines of your life with no crowds and perfect snow. Sleds are also a giant pain in ...read more

Nic and I have been busy. Very busy. We have both said more than a few times how spent we are after a day of filming.
I think it was easy when I was concentrating on just being an athlete. Stepping out into this other role of film producer/director/cinematographer leaves me absolutely drained after the day even if I spend 90% ...read more

I’ve set off many slides over the years on purpose where I would cut the slope in a safe way, or stomp on an isolated pocket that looked bulbous and wind loaded. I was being safe. My radar for dangerous snow conditions grows every year with more and more experience simply being in the mountains. I was very thankful that ...read more

My truck was found by police! What a relief. Just a stolen stereo and otherwise no damage. The first thing I did after picking it up from the impound is go out and buy a club.
In other news I would like to welcome on board Smith Optics and Swany Gloves.
The Smith stuff is great. The I/O goggles are a breeze ...read more
