Thought I would post up a quick little video from TDI Cup driver selection last month. This montage is from the autocross track, where we were each asked to pilot a 2010 Golf TDI, through a tight track made up of cones. The deal with autocross is that you are out there on your own, and the goal is to set the fastest time possible, but there’s a catch: hit a cone and get a penalty. Let me tell you, I hit a lot of cones. With each cone I hit someone would remind me “just pretend its a concrete wall!”, but you know what, it isn’t a concrete wall, its a stupid cone, and in my hunger to always go faster, I can’t help but push it right to the limit, especially when the only consequence is running over a little piece of orange plastic. Anyway, autocross isn’t really my thing, but the video’s pretty cool so check it out.
